About Us

It was during the summer of 1991 that the Kwara State Association of Nigeria At North America (KSANG) started. In Hyattsville, a suburb in the State of Maryland, near Washington DC, it turned out that there was a large community of Yorubas from Nigeria there, many of whom, at the time, were from Kwara State. During Nigerian communities outings, we (Kwarans) often ran into one another. In order to strengthen the family relationships among these Kwarans and to form a cohesive base to give back to our brethren at home in Kwara, Kwara State Association Of Nigeria at North America (KSANG) Washington DC, its first chapter was formed

Over the years, our organization grew in numbers and in strength to other States within the continental United States of America. In 2001 at Atlanta, Georgia, KSANG Washington DC chapter was joined by many other kwaran families from other States to form the KSANG National organization with chapters in Atlanta, Ga, New York, Ny, Seattle, Wa, Chicago, Il, and Houston,Tx, with a chapter still being considered for Canada.

about

Our Values

To commemorate our home state of Kwara, KSANG and many of its members have endeavored on many Non Governmental Organizational (NGO) causes such as, medical missions, academic missions, and trade missions to Kwara State especially, in Ilorin and in many of other Kwara local government areas to help locals either to assist them in school developments, schools renovations, or scholastic assistances and to further enlighten our brethren on opportunities in self enduring vocational skills, entrepreneurship and IT.
The first of these many missions established by KSANG to reach out to our brethren in Kwara was forging a lasting relationship with the School of Special Needs, Ilorin. KSANG was even able to help the school accord collaboration with Gallaudet College, a higher institute for the special needs students here in Washington DC USA
It is also the mission of KSANG to continue to make itself available to help any of our diaspora Kwarans, especially in North America seeking family assistance or job related opportunities in order to further entrench stability among our KSANG members.
The KSANG national organization aims to continue to be the diaspora Kwarans foremost organization by helping to shape Kwara’s future leadership, helping to promote Kwara’s educational, medical and economic agenda, helping to create sustainable growth of the State and its people, promoting peace, security of lives and properties and helping to propagate a future of Kwara with lofty goals which the future generations of Kwarans will be proud of.
